September 10th - May 21st, 2017
Faith Creek is designed for children 3 years old (by 9/1/2016) through 5th Grade. It meets Saturday, at 5:30 pm and Sunday, at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 am.
Cost is $25 per student (discount for families with 3 or more children.) Volunteers are also needed.
As you go through the registration process, you will be able to choose your child's class time.
High School Ministry
September 18th - May 21st, 2017
On Sunday evenings we will have our regular youth group meetings, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. It will be a great time to bring the whole group together to get your spiritual cup filled, get to know one another and explore important issues.
Student Leadership, on Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 8:30. There are opportunities for high school students to lead in a variety of ways; there is a Hospitality Team, a Skit Team and a Tech Team.
Adult Leaders are needed too! Join us on Sunday nights and lead a small group, join us for activities and trips or on Wednesday nights for the leadership training.
** BE SURE TO PRINT OUT AND COMPLETE 2016-17 PERMISSION SLIP** Only one required for entire school year, but student must have one on file to participate in activities.

Learn strategies to improve your health while including God in the process. This 6-part class begins Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017.

Kick-Off Speaker: National fitness expert, Chris Freytag, has been teaching, training, writing books and speaking on the subject of health and fitness for the last 25 years. Chris is the founder of GetHealthyU.com a fast-growing digital publishing company that reaches over 2 million a month through the website, newsletters and social media. She also launched GetHealthyUTV.com, a membership based website that offers full length workouts to stream on any device, anytime, anywhere. Chris is a certified personal trainer, certified health coach and teaches classes at Life Time Fitness. Chris also does the Motivation Monday segments for KARE 11 NBC.
3rd Annual SPD Outdoors Ice Fishing Retreat
January 26th - January 29th, 2017
Join SPD Outdoors for a time of faith, fellowship, fun and fishing at the 3rd Annual SPD Outdoors Ice Fishing Retreat on beautiful Lake of the Woods, January 26-29, 2017.
Located 5 1/2 hours (315 miles) north of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, Lake of the Woods has built a reputation over the years as one of the premier fishing lakes in the country. Pairing scenery, location and a diverse and healthy fishery, the lake boasts trophy-size Walleye, as well as Sauger, Northern Pike and Jumbo Perch.
Accommodations will be provided by Wheelers Point Resort and Lodge in Baudette, MN. Wheelers Point is located where the Rainy River enters Lake of the Woods. You will enjoy two full days of fishing in a beautifully designed and very well heated ice house.

Ultimate Lock-In! Middle School Ministry

The Ultimate Lock-in at the Maple Grove Community Center in January is massive fun. Youth from churches all around the area have a great time with:
- water park
- ice skating arena
- teen center
- inflatable games
- dodgeball tourney
- 9 Square in the Air
- food and much more!!!
When: Friday, January 27 from 10 pm to 5:30 am Saturday
(Drop off and pick up will happen at the main doors of the community center it is recommended to car pool)
Who: All 6th-8th graders and their friends!
Things to bring:
A good attitude
Money for snacks at the concessions (only if you want additional snacks)
Any friends who want to come (they need to register!)
One bag for your swimsuit, towel, and ice skates if you are bringing those things.
Things not to bring:
CD Players, MP3 Players, sleeping bags and cell phones
Outside food or drink
Fireworks, Alcohol, Drugs or other illicit substances
Valuables that can get broken or stolen

1st Communion Workshop

1st Communion Workshops:
Thursday, February 2 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Will receive their 1st Communion on Sunday, February 12 at 11:00 am.
Thursday, April 20 at 6:00pm - 8:00 pm. Will receive their 1st Communion on Saturday, April 29 at 5:30 pm.
All kids in Grades 2 and up are eligible to attend this parent/child workshop.
Expressions of Faith: Bible Art Journaling Retreat

For centuries, the faithful have used art as a means of connecting with their Creator. Recently, there has been a new interest in illustrating faith as a devotional practice. Join Pastor Cheryl Mathison and Amanda Berger for a weekend of connecting with scripture and creativity as we introduce you to the basics (and then some!) of Bible Art Journaling. We'll enjoy the hospitality of Camp Courage near Maple Lake, Minnesota for a weekend of faith, food and new friends. Cost of the retreat includes all supplies--many of which you will then get to bring home with you! Participants are responsible for their own transportation to and from the retreat.

Lutsen High School Ski Trip

Spend a weekend skiing the best hills in Minnesota! We’ll pack up the vans and head up to Lutsen for 2 beautiful days on the mountain. Spend your days exploring 92 runs and 1,000 ski-able acres.
We will depart St. Philip the Deacon at 4:30pm on Friday and return at approximately 6:30pm on Sunday. We will be staying at the Lake Superior Hostel, located in Tofte, MN.
Included in the cost is 2 nights lodging, 2 day lift pass, Saturday & Sunday breakfasts & Saturday dinner as well as lunch on the hill Saturday and Sunday (Sloppy Joe's, fruit and chips), and transportation.
Extras: Friday supper on the road, Sunday supper on the road and ski/snowboard rental.
Cost = $230 ($115 deposit due by January 15 and $115 balance due by February 1)

Join us for an all out Nerf Gun Extravaganza! This will be a fun night and it can also count as your "event/activity" for the year.
This is a great event to bring a friend along too. Cost is$15.00 per person which includes dinner and everything needed to have a blast!

Boundary Water Adventure
July 24th - July 28th, 2017
Middle School/High School
For students who have completed grades 6-12. Join in on an adventure of some of the most beautiful outdoors in Minnesota. This wilderness experience will give us a chance to explore God’s creation through hiking, camping, and canoeing. This journey is sure to invite each individual to discover God’s presence in nature.
Cost is $ 350 per person. You will need to pay a non-refundable/ non transferable $100 when you register. You need to pay here, and then click on the link below to register with Camp Wapo. We have the opportunity to take 1 adult per trip, if you are interested in participating as a chaperone, register as an adult and Clay Thomas will be in contact with you.
There will be no refunds for any amount after June 16th.
You will also need to create a new account with Camp Wapo to register.
