2016-17 Faith Creek Registration
September 10th - May 21st, 2017
Faith Creek is designed for children 3 years old (by 9/1/2016) through 5th Grade. It meets Saturday, at 5:30 pm and Sunday, at 8:30, 9:45 and 11:00 am.
Cost is $25 per student (discount for families with 3 or more children.) Volunteers are also needed.
As you go through the registration process, you will be able to choose your child's class time.
High School Ministry
September 18th - May 21st, 2017
On Sunday evenings we will have our regular youth group meetings, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. It will be a great time to bring the whole group together to get your spiritual cup filled, get to know one another and explore important issues.
Student Leadership, on Wednesday nights from 6:00 - 8:30. There are opportunities for high school students to lead in a variety of ways; there is a Hospitality Team, a Skit Team and a Tech Team.
Adult Leaders are needed too! Join us on Sunday nights and lead a small group, join us for activities and trips or on Wednesday nights for the leadership training.
** BE SURE TO PRINT OUT AND COMPLETE 2016-17 PERMISSION SLIP** Only one required for entire school year, but student must have one on file to participate in activities.
My Neighbor is Muslim

With an estimated 140,000 Muslims living in Minnesota, this study is important. Through plain-spoken, fact based chapters, participants will explore the history and tenets of Islam. A recent participant said: “It was a breath of fresh air to have a place where we could ask hard questions.” Class meets on Thursdays, October 6-27 at 6:30 pm in the Learning Center. Pumpkin Decorating with Dad

Kids (age 2-Grade 5) are invited to come to church to decorate your pumpkin for Halloween! We’ll have a devotion, some fall snacks, and a good time chatting with others while creating your masterpieces! You bring your own pumpkin, and the carving tools will be here. We’ll also have paint and stickers, if you choose to go that route. No cost, but please register by Oct 25.
Fall Festival for Families

Fall Festival for Families Sunday, Oct 30 3:00-4:15 Join us for an afternoon of fall fun at church! The afternoon will be filled with Trunk-or-treat (trick-or-treating out of people’s trunks), food, games, live animals, pony rides and more! There is no cost, but registration deadline is Oct 27!
Women's Outdoor Adventure - Rescheduled!

Women's’ Outdoor Adventure~ Calling all women who would like to get out in nature and explore God’s beautiful creation through hiking, biking, and kayaking (and campfire, hayride, food, and more). Celebrate fall through active adventures with other women who are looking for the same fun! We will reside at Heartwood Conference Center outside Trego, Wisconsin. You’ve got options: Fill your entire time away with active fun, or just do some of them and relax the rest of the time, or….come and relax the whole time in this beautiful setting! Food will be provided. We will leave Friday morning, November 4 and return Saturday evening, November 5. Cost will be $100 per person, which includes lodging, food, and all activities. November Jesus Crew

We will eat, hang with old friends and make some new ones, play games, have devotions, and connect with each other as we grow our faith! Invite your friends, as all 5th graders are welcome! We will be meeting Wednesday, November 9, from 6:30-8:00 and will include pizza! Register online by November 7!
November All Family Movie Night

Saturday, November 12 at 6:30!! All families are invited to join us for movie night at church. Why not go to church at 5:30 and then head downstairs for the movie at 6:30? If not, you’re welcome to come at 6:30 and watch THE GOOD DINOSAUR on the big screen at church.
Pizza, drink, and dessert provided. Cost is $5 per person for the food. Registration open until Thursday, November 10!

Come and enjoy the fun, faith, fellowship, football (Vikings @ Redskins) and food (Smoked Ribs courtesy of Pastor Mark and Erik Jacobson) beginning at 12:00pm in the Center for Faith and Life.

Middle School and High School Barn Party

We will be having a "Hoe Down" at St Philip the Deacon on Sunday, November 20th. This is our 3rd Annual Barn Party with a real "Caller". You don't have to know how to square dance to come, instructions will be given throughout the evening. There might be a bit of line dancing too!
Cost is $5 per person.
Soul Sisterhood Mother & Daughter Retreat December 2016

Mothers and daughters (ages 10+) are invited to join Soul Sisterhood at South Fork Farm for an incredible weekend of creativity, connection, and relaxation. Facilitated by Amanda Berger, this weekend will include opportunities for mothers and daughters to reconnect with each other, connect with God, and to celebrate the special relationship that is between mothers and daughters. The weekend includes all meals, lodging, craft supplies, and activities. Space is limited, so register soon!

3rd Annual SPD Outdoors Ice Fishing Retreat

Join SPD Outdoors for a time of faith, fellowship, fun and fishing at the 3rd Annual SPD Outdoors Ice Fishing Retreat on beautiful Lake of the Woods, January 26-29, 2017.
Located 5 1/2 hours (315 miles) north of St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church, Lake of the Woods has built a reputation over the years as one of the premier fishing lakes in the country. Pairing scenery, location and a diverse and healthy fishery, the lake boasts trophy-size Walleye, as well as Sauger, Northern Pike and Jumbo Perch.
Accommodations will be provided by Wheelers Point Resort and Lodge in Baudette, MN. Wheelers Point is located where the Rainy River enters Lake of the Woods. You will enjoy two full days of fishing in a beautifully designed and very well heated ice house.

Thursday, February 2 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Will receive their 1st Communion on Sunday, February 12 at 11:00 am.
Thursday, April 20 at 6:00pm - 8:00 pm. Will receive their 1st Communion on Saturday, April 29 at 5:30 pm.
All kids in Grades 2 and up are eligible to attend this parent/child workshop.
